Nice, interested in your results. If you want some help I'd be happy to lend a hand. Would give me an idea if I want to tackle this in my truck.

That katzkin stuff is big $$$ compared to most leather installs I've seen. At that price it better be WAY above factory quality.

^^+1 I have always heard their stuff is top notch quality but I have find 5 other sites that will do custom leather interiors for half the price that looks just as good (in the pictures at least)

I'm going to have this truck a LOOOONG time if it's good as everyone says it's definitely a worthwhile mod. I figure someone here will buy the stock covers they are literally brand new so it will knock some of the edge off 550 price tag. The rear seats and the passenger front seat have never had the plastic taken off. I made them leave all the plastic on carpet and seats when I got it last year.

Need to consider somethings before deciding against Katzkin:
-The quality of the leather (Reputable brand v. off-brand)
-The fit/finish pattern
-Your ability to install v. having a shop doing it (taking seats out, messing with side air bags, trim peices on the seats, the arm rest piece is not a slip-on)
-The warranty (from not only the manufacturer but the installer too)

When looking at pictures of other installed kits, you have no idea how much time went into making that product look that particular way in the picture (like a McDonald's burger commercial... they use 10 tomatoes to find the best slice)

I know the installer, who did my Katzkin seats, took a little under 4 hrs to complete the work

Let me know when you're ready to sell, I might be interested for the right price. The vmax I'm getting has some wear on the front seats.

This the kit everyone is talking about?

That is one of them. I've been looking at solid ebony though, which the same seller has here - 08 09 10 11 Chevy Silverado Crew Leather seat covers | eBay

It is. And 5 years and 50000 miles later it's still in nice shape and not a spider web cracking mess where you get in and out like GM's factory junk.

I know we can all find cheaper stuff as I have too. But honestly sometimes you get what you pay for...........
