Default I know another header question.

I have an 08 CCSB 5.3 3.73 2wd and if I buy Long Tube headers what mods will i have to do to the factory exhaust if any? I haven't done any mods yet but will be going to Wheatly eventually. Which brand of header has everyone had the best luck with?

Also what is this cut out I have heard about removing and how do you remove it?

Thanks.

Yes you will need to modify the stock exhaust ALOT. You have to use an aftermarket Y pipe.

You definately have alot of research to do...

if you are 2wd, pacesetters will fit, but you will need a custom y-pipe/cats.
they are cheap[but not stainless] and people who have them luv them.
for direct fit no fabrication you need either dynatechs or american racing headers with cats, they are pricey, about 1400, but stainless direct fit, no fabbing.

i have a set of american racing with cats available for sale, 1200 plus freight.
obx might fit as well, not sure.

I just put on dynatechs and they are taking out O2 sensors left and right.

Most people put in aftermarket cat back exhausts first. What are you trying to gain with your headers?

i turned off the rear 02 on the passeger side on my o7 with hpt , too much flow.

i forget the code but it's too much flow rather than not enough for stock 02 parameters
it's a tune issue

I am just trying to get some more power for pulling our 33' Travel Trailer that weighs about 7500lbs. I am not in a position to trade so I have to work with what I got. I have thought about upgrading the gears to 4.10s.

If you buy the Pacesetter headers and ORY, you shouldnt have to modify anything, but you wont have cats.

i'm thinking about going with the pacesetters with their y pipe on my 08 ccsb... a blower or turbo would make that bitch tow that big trailer pretty good TC
