Header Question (again)
#1
Well finally ready to get some headers for the new truck but have run into the wall
, I want to get the LT's because they'll give me the most bang for my buck (and I have a guy who is going to give me his slightly used LT's with ORY for $250) but then I'm not smog legal here in CA anymore. So in that case is it even worth my money to get a set of shorties or should I just keep the stockers. To my knowledge the shorties are a little more efficient than stock but not much. Or should I just grow a set and get the LT's and then just take the headaches of getting it to pass smog when that road comes 2-3 years down the road? Let me know what you guys think.
Also on a side note, what type of work is involved with installing LT's as opposed to the shorties? Something I can do on a weekend with at home tools or will I need help from a shop?

get the lts.....
I haven't installed any lts in these trucks before, but it can't be that hard to do yourself. Only problem I've seen these guys run into is having to trim something or move something.....

I put mine on in the garage by myself. Pacesetter LT & ORY. fit like a glove. Just take your time with the maniflod bolts. get some wd-40 and spray down the manifold bolts and the cat bolts real good before you start. You might want to remove the spark plugs too, it does make it easier.

I could acutally throw the cats on before the Y then just have to put my sensors in behind the Y (heads have the mount for the front sensor already). And D_rek I'm actually located in Bakersfield as you are, who do you have here in town?? I drove around for weeks with my old truck from smog shop to smog shop to try to get someone and couldn't find one. Did end up getting it to pass eventually (by the hairs on my chin it passed) but it took a lot of work on my part. Let me know who you know because I wont need it for another 2 years I believe but it's always nice to have a number in my phone to fall back on for help. Also D_rek do you live in the Oildale area? I could have sworn I saw your truck out that way when I was workin.
