Default HD Cooling

My truck has all the hd cooling on it. I Spoke with Chris at Circle D and was asking about the 40K trans cooler and he said i shouldn't need it.

What have y'all seen your trans temp up to?
I leave the transtemp up on the DIC all the time because thats all i care about.

I seen mine go up to 160* today. Getting up there pretty hot. And i wasn't even pushing on it, guess the texas heat is here to stay.

I've seen 18X's on my stock 5.3/6L80 with engine and aux trans cooler. When I get my stall I expect it to get even hotter and will be running a better cooler if that is the case.

I was told 180* was getting too hot for the trans. And 200* is a nono.
I'm thinking we'll need more than that 40k cooler!

I have to work it hard to get into the 180s but so long as your under 200s and ideally sub 190s I'm told all is well.

I think the 40k will be enough. The factory cooler isn't all that impressive IMHO.

You def want the TruCool 40K, even if your stock!!!

My trans runs around 140-150 after WOT runs and playing, but cools down to around 110-120 cruising around.

Here's some popular rule of thumb diagrams.

I figured this one would be just as good no?
I don't need the bypass.

40K should be plenty. I've got a Tru-Cool 28K I believe and the highest I've ever seen in Texas summer was maybe 180. Typically runs around 150-165 even in summer.
