how is it not good for the economy? high gas prices caused everyone to raise their prices and I'd have to say 50% of this damn recession is the effect of the high gas prices...now everyone can drop prices back to where they should be and people will be able to afford more stuff.

and who gives a flying f*ck about the oil companies, they'll still make their record profits I'm sure.

never in the past was fuel something normal people had to budget for. suddenly it became a make or break thing, F*cked up the economy more than anything else. countless companies are out of business due to the rise in fuel prices - which reminds us of what a shaky economy we sit on...

I agree. IMO oil companies drove the US into the state it is in with their greed. Hell, its like a pay raise not paying $100 for a tank of gas.

****. stop by the auto industry for a minute and we'll talk about layoffs. it's not the cheap gas thats causin it. i can't believe i still have a job at the company i work for, in fact after i finish this job at this Super Duty plant in Kentucky in late February I anticipate being laid off. My roommate works for the same company and he's expecting to get laid off tomorrow. thank god for cheap gas or we'd be really fucked. buy american!
