Default Driveshaft question

What's everyone doing for driveshafts? Buying, having one built or is something interchangable?. I finally got my truck back together, took it to get dyno tuned this morning and my pot metal driveshaft ripped in half. It's a 07 nnbs rcsb with 5.3 if it matters. Thanks in advance

I had one made, made my own crossmember and welded it in.
either way for going to 2 piece your making a cross member, but I believe you can take a NBS shaft, get a bastard u joint and pop it in

So you broke a ds with just a CAI on a rcsb 5.3 2wd truck? That sucks. Id hoped to turbo mine to help on the hills when I pull my boat to the lake but if I have to rebuild the driveline to handle a lil bit more power maybe I shoulda kept my LLY Duramax.

I didnt see the OP had a RCSB, thats definitely very strange!

how fast were you going when it let go? is there any possibility it may have been damaged?
you should fire off an email to driveshaft specialist in san antonio and see what they suggest to build, probly a steel 3.5" with thicker walls

My **** vibrates above 90+ mph with just a tune -__-" Vibrates nasty too. Lol

A 2 piece shaft will hold good.

I just got my cam, dod delete, yank 3000 stall and headers finally put on. It was on the dyno getting tuned when it let go. Pretty awesome actually. Couldn't help but laugh! Apparently my 5 day old exhaust was not on the drive shaft protection plan! Lol

This has happend to several folks here with trucks on the dyno. As mentioned get a custom shaft from DS.

Is the 4x4 driveshaft a little safer given the shorter length?
