I got my DOD delete stuff from GM direct
But I read on a G8 forum about getting a block off valve for the valley cover and some breather tube that goes on the valve cover I believe

all i need now is the CAM, springs and pushrods

this is where i bought my LS7 lifters/Trays/LS2 wedge 182 basically. way cheaper than TR wants. i paid 106 or whatever for the LS7 valley cover from TR so that saves your 40.00 plus taxes.

There was barely any difference when mine hit 4 cylinder mode, and I had flowmaster 40 series exhaust... I mean it was noticeable but by no means annoying.

Whats this about the block off valve for the valley cover?

Why would GM put something in all these motors that purposely shortens the life of the lifters? Do you have a source for this information?

The lifters are fine in a stock engine. Its when you put a high lift cam in and turn an extra 500rpm that things get dangerous. I'm pretty sure the cam profiles for DOD motors are specific to the lifters as well..

Exactly, things don't typically break on their own. You could ask why GM puts driveshafts that aren't balanced to handle 100+MPH, well, most people won't have a need to go over that speed.

You need to pick where you want to vent the crankcase since you're opening up another port in the engine. Valley cover or valve cover; personally I'd prefer to block off the valve cover and vent through the valley.
