How bad are the cracks? Are they just drying out or is it stress cracks??
its about 4 inches long and zig-zags. it looks to be stress. my truck has dark windows and stays under a carport at home and work. only in direct sunlight when im driving it or if its in a parking lot. the dash looks like it will come apart pretty easy i wonder if you have to pull it all the way out like your doing a heater core or evaporator core. or if u can take it off with out pulling it all the way apart.

I'd bet it's related to living in a HOT climate. Most of these guys with cracks are in Texas, or some other state that gets hot as hell.

Its a common issue with these trucks, sadly. My bosses Sierra cracked when it was only a few months old. I see it being more common with the ebony color interiors.

No cracks here, knock on wood. 140k miles, 9 years old and rarely sees a garage.

I bet the heat has a factor like Roger said and how well you keep up with the dash. Anything alcohol based to clean it might hurt it or any chemical that could dry it out.

I usually use a very small dab of leather conditioner when going over my interior.

My truck was in Dallas when it cracked and now I'm in Arizona, so the heat is likely a contributing factor.

Either way, it's disappointing and from what I've seen it's NNBS trucks 07+ that crack. My 05s never cracked and the 00 I have right now isn't cracked either.

Sounds like GM cheaped out on the material. Ive read the sheet metal on nnbs is thinner too.
