well crap. I like visiting Mexico, not sure I am thrilled about my truck being built there.

At least the motor has been out and is bullet proof now..

My own 2011 30,000km Vin2 no cracks
My dads 2007 100,000km Vin 2 no cracks
My Uncles 2008 120,000km Vin 2 no cracks

thinking it must have to do with the heat you guys in the southern states get?

It gets damn hot where I am too, it was 105+ the entire time I was installing my turbo outside.

I would think it either has to do with heat, or materials used to clean the dash. I wouldn't figure that different assembly plants use a material with less quality between the 3. I would think GM chose a supplier and that supplier ships the same plastics directly to the plants.

GM as well as all mass assemblers use many different suppliers for the same parts.
My 2011 has a 1 VIN. Don't know if that will help or not.

Im going to assume a combination of extreme heat on the dash along with the use of cleaners that dryout the plastics in the dash
