i have a 2008 1500 2wd and the dash cracked on the driver side. how many other people had this happen. i talked to a friend at the dealer and he said that it is common for it to happen but on the passenger side. no warranty is given for the dash cracking..... who replaced their dash??????

 

Mines cracked. I know 6 other guys with cracked dashes. Gm is supposed to replace em but only till 36000 miles. At the dealer I used to work at they were replacing em all day.

 

yea i have almost 90,000 miles on my truck.... whats the average price for just the dash it bothers me that its cracked.

 

They usually crack on passenger side starting around the airbag insert.

'11 cracked at 10k miles (1500 CCSB z71)
'09 cracked around 30-40k miles (2500 CCSB 4wd)
'08 cracked unk miles
'13 has 500 miles on it and I bet it will crack soon too

You would think after this many years, GM would have addressed the underlying issue or someone would have come up with a reasonable fix for it. This is RIDICULOUS IMHO.

 

i didnt think it was that common.. i knew every dodge cracked but didnt know the chevys did also my 1998 chevy took 9 years to crack and 160,000+ miles

I have a buddy who has one cracked. My 07 RCSB never cracked while I had it though. 56,xxx miles and just traded it ~2 months ago.

 

My shitbox looks like a jigsaw puzzle

 

no cracks yet.. maybe I should look closer.


How bad are the cracks? Are they just drying out or is it stress cracks??

 

No cracks on mine that I know of, 2007 with 90,000 on it.
