Cats
#1
I am looking into doing a full exhaust system from headers all the way back.
First question: I have been tlaking with a few of the exhaust guys aound town and they tell me it is a waist of money to change out my cats because they already flow so well comparred to older cats. Is this true?
Does anyone make long tubes for the 4x4s yet?
What did you guys do as far as cats?
What is your whole setup from front to rear? Did you notice alot of increase in power or economy?

Don't need no stinking cats.....
I would only look into high flowing cats if you had some serious engine work. Like running boost or some big cubes. With stock cubes you will see minimum is any gains from high flow cats.
On the other hand.....they do go very nice with a full custom setup and make the car sound a lot better.

mine is a 4X4 and i have American Racing 1 3/4 Longtube Headers, with a Full 3 inch Bullet style Hi-Flow Catted Y-pipe leading to a 3 inch cut-out. With the full exhaust set up and re-tune i picked up .6 in the quarter mile. that is probably 45 hp i am guessing? $1385 for the headers shipped, my fuel mileage went up alot too.
