Default Called out

So ive been called out by a buddy. Long story short, what should my truck run? It's a 2011 CCSB Z71 6.2L 4x4. Bone stock. I live in SLC. Average altitude is 4500 feet. On average, DA is 5000-6000. What should I run 1/4 mile? And I know... Fords rule :-) !!

You will be about a full second slower than sealevel at 4500-5000'. Long as he doesn't have a turbo or supercharger you should be ok.

Sorry. In all seriousness, what should my truck run in the quarter? My buddy that called me out has a 1981 Chevy RCSB step side 2wd, 454, pretty much stock, mild cam, turbo 400, 4.10:1 and DR's. My truck is bone stock w/ 3.42 gears. Serious guesstimates please. I put money down on this. Track isn't open yet to settle this. Will be within the month I assume. Once it opens, we'll run em.

I believe most run high 13s. With your altitude you'll be around low to mid 14s.

I ran mid 11.51/116mph at 1000' elv with a similar truck to your buddies 1973 step side, 454 9.5:1 cr, mild ported oval heads, and 232@.050 hyd flat tappet cam, 3.73's, and dr's. Mild bbc's can run hard if set up right, but some can run 15's...Stock silverado SS runs with CIA, and exh mid to low 16's in pueblo Co 4900'. Ls2 GTO's low 15's, LS3 camaro's mid 14's... Thing is both of you should loose same % of power so alt shouldn't be a big factor.

bone stock 6.2s range from 14.4-15.1s depending weight. put a tune and those things can range from 13.7s-14.5s depending the tune.

Don't know about your buddies truck, but yours is a 4x4 with the 3.42's...you are looking at high 14's without a tune...3.73's with a 2wd would be closer to low 14's...
