Default C-Notch Question

Ive posted in the regional forums for my area, but no replies so far (https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-shops-542103/) Im in Tulsa and was looking/needing to find a reputable shop who would/can do a c-notch for me. Havent lived up here long, so I dont have a lot of friends in the area to ask about shops. Im not opposed to driving the Tri-State area if there was a reputable shop. Notching the frame seems like a pretty big deal, so obviously I wouldnt want some unknown mom and pop joint hacking away at my truck....Unless said joint had vouchers/work I could see. I know there are plenty of people capable of doing it that dont have their own shop or whatever, I guess it would all just depend.

Most of the shops Ive called here "Dont do that kinda work".

Surely someone knows a shop in the OKC, Dallas, Arkansas, or Kansas areas??

I cant bring myself to do the work. Never really messed with notches or frame work before and I dont want my first go round to be me with a saw-saw and my frame.

It would be on an NNBS Ext Cab

How low are going in the rear??

I thought I read that you can do like a 6-7in rear drop without a notch, you just have to remove the factory bump stop perch dealio from the frame.

Well Id honestly at LEAST like to go 7 in the rear, but I dont want to worry about slapping frame at every road imperfection. The roads around here where I live (Oklahoma) are notorious for being bad. I feel like if I take the stock drop to the limits, Ill run into problems. I had a NNBS reg cab about 4 months ago with a 3-5, maybe a 4-6, but it looked more like a 3-5 and every time I hit a pot hole or something the rear tires would hit or the frame would slap.

I just figured Id go with a notch and helpers so there is no issues with clearance, the ride quality would go up, and there would be room for other things if I get the itch. Like bigger wheels, .5-2" lower if I want etc etc
