Got a killer deal on it and possibly a good hookup on GM parts.

Nice, which one is that? Is it stock or ported? I personally eventually want an LS7 90 mm for my new 5.3 liter.

Heck of a deal and to be honest, I think I'd rather have the stock LS7 TB anyways. Sometimes the ported units can be more pain than they're worth.

Yup because at the end of the day this TB is 90mm and the other is still 87mm ported or not.

I ported my factory unit pretty good. It wasnt till i dropped the blade and got a ding in it that i started having problems.

Sometimes being a perfectionist has its cons too.

What gains are you expecting going from 87 to 90mm?

Better throttle response.
With my ported 87 throttle response was noticeably improved.
