I read that when your computer senses a prob several times within a certain amount of cycles it triggers the check eng light. and now that i remember, the check eng light came on after about 3 runs from 0mph. and this last time i didnt disconnect the battery, this morning the check eng light was off. i thought it would stay on???

take it to autozone and have them read the code to see what is causing the light to come. its kind of silly to try and guess if you can read it directly.

You are getting the ABS light because the computer is confused from the new stall converter. The computer is programmed to think that the trans input speed (engine rpm) should be close (within say 2000, less than the stock stall speed) to the trans output speed. Since you have a higher speed stall, the computer doesnt know whats going on and shuts off the abs. This only happens at hard take offs because that is when you will get the most rpm difference with a higher stall torque converter. It is also corrected before you got home because the computer saw values that were within the limits so whatever problem it thought was there, not thinks is fixed.

So in short, nothing is wrong, but the check engine light is a seperate issue.

My truck turned on the check engine light this weekend after I slammed down at about 5mph coming out of a turn. The converter flashed stalled and then the trans kicked violently into first and the engine light came on. When we checked the DTC it was a speed sensor malfunction. It turns out that it was because we had recently turned off the TM on downshifts (in the TCM) and when I nailed it, the high stall and violent downshift must have broken loose the tires and given the speed sensor a strange reading because of the rapid change in engine rpm and then wheel spin. At least that's my theory. We turned the TM back on on the downshifts (it's also enabled on the upshifts) and now it's fine after a few more similar WOT blasts from slow speeds, so I think it's fixed. I'm not sure if your problem is the same.
You need to check to see what the DTC is before you can even make an educated guess about what the problem is.
BTW: Are you guys turning off your traction control and/or Stabilitrack (if you have that) when you make a run? To turn off the stabilitrack, you need to hold down the traction control button for 10 secs, until you see "Stabilitrack disabled".

well, my ABS light has been coming on and my Check Eng light doesnt come on anymore.... weird?? Well my truck doesnt have a stabilitrac button or a traction control button. Mine is Ext cab, its my understanding that crew cabs came out with that. I just had my tuner remove the Torque management but i dont know about the traction control. i assume so
