6L80 & 6.2 shifts?

I haven't really monitored mine with scanner while driving but under light throttle what gears do they start locking the converter in at.
Can TCC safely be disabled till say 62-70 once it reachs 5th and 6th gear that way it wont lug so bad on the few occasions I am forced to do intown driving.

The nicest thing about them is you have great gearing for off the line why still having great cruising gears for the HWY to get good gas millage.
I can pull 0-60 in about 3.9 seconds and still get 20MPG on the hwy

Tuning is key on these trans as they are all computer actuated, unlike the typical 4spds where you can add shift kits and servos. I took my truck back twice to get the trans where I wanted it. Everyone is different as are all tunes. Go with your tuner during the street tune portion to discuss where you want your parameters at.

I am considering buying the Tuning Schools manual on tuning these 6 speeds. For $99 bucks it might be worth it.
I really want their other course but don't want to drop over $400 for a book and a few dvd's

The 6L80 is very different from the 4L80...my 4L80 would hit hard in every gear, where as the 6L80 seems to need a little more time to catch the gear...1-2 shift is really solid and will give me a good bit of wheel hop at WOT...the 2-3 however is delayed, but then the 3-4 will hit hard too...this seems to be the norm with the 6spd...I have a couple buddys with them and even with different tuners we all shift the same...
