Default 5.3L 4L60E TO A 6.0L 6L90E Swap

Ok so here is the rundown.

Swaping my 5.3L 4l60E to a 6.0L Forged internals mated to a 6L90E

Engine will be shipped 07/25/08 for forging.

6.0L Gen IV Block with L92 heads. Dont know if its VVT or not

If its a VVT, It will be removed, block will be prepped for 12 psi.

Rods, pistons, cam, heads from local guy whos really good

Set up for 6500 rpm redline.

TVS 1900

Tranny update. its being replaced, a new tranny is on its way

6L90E will be bolted up after the engine goes in and is broken in.

Needed items are crossmember and driveshaft.

Programming will also be needed.

Goals, are high to mid 11's with street weight and slicks.

Needs to be a daily driver.

Updates will be made with pics and other information will be posted. I want everything to look like its stock so money will be spend and dreams might be crushed.

Stay tuned...............................

If you guys have any pointers any help anything will be appriciated. Thanks

Looking forward to updates. What is needed tuning/harness wise for the 6l90? Does your truck have a separate pcm/tcm?

Currently my truck has a 5.3L AFM with a 4l60E.

Tuning + harnes for the tranny to be mated up to the engine, and getting the bcm to accept all the futures the tranny has. My main concern is getting the gears to work once that is done, the rest ill waite untill 09 when the trucks to finish the rest of the body control ****.

I about to do it to my 07 1500 NNBS 5.3L is a LY5, has cathedral port heads, AFM/DOD non-VVT with 4l60e and 08 2500 6.0L is LY6 has rectangular port heads, VVT non-AFM/DOD with 6l90e . I got the motor, transmission, and wiring harness with Computer/steering column all from the same truck. I heard you can use the original cross member. The main difference in wiring is if your vehicle is Flex fuel
