The 60/40 applies to the awd cases. I am least familiar with the auto 4wd cases as mine is a manual.
I have the selectable (electronic) 4x4 in mine, I asked the question of power ratio in 4x4 at the dealership to the tech when picking up some gaskets on cam swap. He told me 50/50.

If it has a chain in it I gurantee its 50/50. Some of them have clutches though, so im not so sure.

Just keep it in 4x4 all the way. I use to switch out when my truck was NA but once it was boosted I just stayed in 4x4 all the way with no problems.

At the power level that this combo should make, the transfer case & front diff will NOT shift out of 4x4 while WOT. Too much load against the moving parts. It's also not advisable to attempt the shift because, if something does shift it will likely break.

The answer is to just leave it in 4x4 the entire pass. Yes it will cost you a couple mph, but that's the price of traction I guess.

Also, the AWD t-cases have chains too. If traction is even, they split the tq 50/50. There's a big writeup somewhere about how the NVG149 internals work, but that's not what this thread is about, and you won't find that t-case in a GMT900 anyways.

Jake (smokeshow) just had his on a dyno and in back to back runs he saw a 12% difference in power between 2wd and 4wd.

No issues here with the front axles nor t-case...running a 3.2" pulley on a 2300 maggie on a 6.2L and its pretty violent on the low end...i always have been more worried about my whimpy 8.5" rear axle...

I think 12% isn't that bad.
