checked out the tranny coolers today. they dont go by the make and model, but pure cooler sizes (inches)? so how do i know which one is the right size for me?

Buy the biggest one that can fit, if you're instaling it in front of the radiator. Look for the highest GVW rating. As far as I know, all of the manufacturers go by that, but not all online vendors display that info. Another option - if you can find somewhere else to put it - is the module type that comes with a small fan w/ a temperature control switch that turns the fan off and on, which are obviously more expensive and you probably don't need that on your truck. (It's what I installed on my race car.) Check out Summit and Jegs to see what they offer.
