4.8l to ATK LQ4 6.0L?
So I have a 2008 4WD Silverado with a 4.8l, 107,000 miles and the valve train is making some awful noise. I've had several shops look at it and the consensus is that I either have a sticky/stuck lifter or it ate a camlobe. Either way, at 56,000 miles Chevrolet replaced all 16 lifters due to valve-train noise under warranty and now it's back. I'm done with this 4.8l and tired of sinking money into this engine, so I'm thinking of the ATK LQ4 6.0l.
I know the accessories IE: alternator, waterpump, A/C, ETC. will bolt-on directly but I have heard conflicting reports about the intake manifold bolting directly up. I know I will need a tune, injectors from an 8.1L Chevy, and to bring over the 4.8L flywheel. I'm also thinking about a FLT 4l65/70e stage 5 to handle the 6.0l. I already have 33" tires and 4.56 gears with Detroit truetrac in the 10 bolt.
I tow our RV and ATVs with this truck so I'm just looking for some extra power without going too crazy.
So with all of this taken into account would the 6.0l be a great engine swap for me or would I be better off just building the 4.8l. The $3700 is very enticing and it wouldn't hurt to have the extra power for towing.
If I do the 6.0l I want to do LT headers, magnaflow exhaust with an X-pipe or H-pipe, and a tq converter to match the engine/tranny with the 4.56 gears and still be able to tow/DD.

Or just don't run the VVT the LY6 and L96 have and swap the cam.... pretty simple. You can harvest your 4.8's timing cover. For that matter if you don't want the L92's which I personally wouldn't, just take your 4.8's entire top end and put it on a Gen IV 6 liter short block...... It would easily be a more powerful combo than that LQ4 thing they are offering. Someone here has run that engine in a Gen 3 application and it's just a bone stock LQ4 with a cam and makes about the power you would expect a bone stock LQ4 with a Vinci Trucker cam to make.
