Default 2wd to a 4x4 conversion

I got a opportunity to get the whole front suspension of a 07 gmc which is a z71 , im seeing if I got all the parts is it a bolt on or welding is involved this is for 08 gmc in my sig thanks

so all you'd be getting is the suspension?
I believe the swap would be about 90% bolt in cause the cross member and mounting points are already there!
so your current suspension is already capable of accepting the parts, you'd need the 4x4 trans, a t case, the rear and front driveshafts and then the front diff + axle shafts.
for engaging 4x4 that'd be where you should check a bit, you could go with a manual lever and just cut a hole in the floor and mount the lever, or you could check into the electronic shifting but you'd probly need the BCM or a reflash.

yeah ive read that on my 08 its pretty much a bolt on kit other than some tabs ,ive got access to a 07 z71 I believe it is so it should swap rite over,ive read on 3 nnbs converted on here ,I hear its not worth it cause of cost but if u got all parts I don't see how it could not be worth its a sure traction fixer on street , ive heard its a 300 lbs weight gain, im ok with that
