Default 285/50-20's on 2/4 dropped GMT900

I'm sure someone has ran this setup...

I've got Belltech struts on the front lowered to -2", removed blocks and shackles out back and I'm considering clamping the leafs to firm it up a little. I've got about 2.5yrs on my 275/55 Cooper HTP's. I love them, but they don't make them in a 285/50. I want to go to a tad shorter and wider tire. I don't think the 295/45's would look right, I don't have enough drop.

If anybody has ran this setup, how did you like it? What rubber did you run?? This truck is just a DD that pulls a boat.... No racing here anymore...

Nitto 420s 285/50r20 here on a 4/7 drop no rub. They fit the wheel better than the 275s.

Ill get some pics tomorrow after work. and i agree about the 285s fitting better. Back when i was stock height i had 295/50/20 falken zieks and they looked good too and i had no issues, but went to the nitto 420 285s on the next set of tires and then dropped it shortly after.

I have a 3/6 drop and run 285/50/20 General Grabber UHP's and love them. Look good and have pretty decent grip.

Is that the setup in your signature?

I like the UHP's but the set I had years back didn't last for ****. I prefer a 60K mile, good riding tire over a grippy tire these days The Coopers I have now have been great, just starting to get worn pretty good. I tow a lot but any light truck tire can do what I want towing wise. I only ever pull a fairly light 18' boat or a couple of motorcycles...

oh these tires are gt radials from discount tire. they are ok but i like the nitto 420s better. these are a softer tread that dont last as long but they are a pretty smooth riding tire

I do like that size.

I have gotten to where I hate buying stuff for the truck these days. When I do, I only want to do it once lol. This truck is stock down to the tailpipe, with a Spintech muffler replacement and an S&B intake... That's it. Not even a tune. Grip is far from my concern haha.
