I have been lurking in the shadows, watching post after post about lowering and what wheels people have, but have seen very little about 24's.

What is the overall wheel diamater of a 24 with 305/35? I have seen 22's on a 4/6 drop and there seems to be a bit of wheel gap still so why wouldn't a 24 work? Aren't they close in overall diameter because you have a higher sidewall usually? I know my Dub condos that were on 305/35/24 where almost the same size as my factoy titan 18's with rubber on them. If that is hard to believe ask silver-mod-o, he helped me lower it with my mcgaughy's drop. I called mcgaughy's but they would not give me a straight answer to see if i could do a 4/6 with my 08 GMC CC. I want the lowest drop possible with my giovanna 24's that are in my future. I plan on doing all this after my deployment which I am currently on.

Whats the deal with offset too. The bigger the offset the more the wheel will tuck into the wheel wells?

I actually had a set of 24's in my garage not too long ago and was going to run them on my truck with my 4/7 drop but the tires I had were a 305/35/24 (came with the wheels) and they were way to wide. If you want to run 24's with a 4/7 drop the tire size I finally came up with that would be the biggest you could probably go without any rubbing is a 275/30/24. The set of 24's I had were Giovanna Gello 24"x10" that were going on my GMC CC. But you should definitely be able to fit the 24's on a 275/30/24.

 

It's definitely all about the combo. I have a RCSB with a 4/7 kit (the front springs have settled considerably, front is down over 5" currently). All around, 24x10 +30 offset. I run a 285/30R24 in the front, and a 315/30R24 in the rear. The 35 series tires are going to be too tall.

What 4/7 kit did you use. (ie Mcgaughy's, Bell tech, DJM, etc..) By the way thanx for all the info fellas. Also does the 4/7 level it out or does the rear sit lower or higher than the front? Thanks again.

 

Mine is McGaughys, although if BellTech had of been available when I lowered mine, it would have BT parts. I would not personally get the McGaughys kit again, as the springs have settled to the point on non-alignment.

Just measure the fenderwells, mine had 4" of rake, stock.

 

I have the Belltech 4/7 that I'm actually running at a 4/8 right now and so far the kit has been a reliable one. I'd definitely recommend Belltech if you're looking for a lowering kit.

 

ive got 305/35/24 and the lowest with some rubbing would be 3/5

 

the lowest you could go is 3/5. 4/6 u will rub up front the tallest you could get away with is a 295/30/24. which is what im running.
