thats because every GM crossover has a floor shifter. trust me gm trucks will not have a floor shifter. it would of been one of the key points with the new interior at the showing

Some good articles on the new trucks

I know I did read an article that claimed 450/450 in the 1/2 ton trucks because it was supposed to be the most power you could buy in a half ton. I just can't find the article for some reason. The second article I posted there has lots of really good pics of both the Silvy and Sierra.

If these trucks pan out to be what they are claiming my 2007 GMT900 truck may be going bye bye next yr
Has anyone seen official HP numbers for the 6.2? if so post it up or link it.
I will give my guess,I say 425HP rating,maybe a tad more.

I am liking the new look, waiting to hear the output of the 6.2 I am gong to guess somewhere around 435 or so. They are claiming 450 for the vette and I expect them to rate the truck a tad lower as always.

I'm going to guess the 6.2 will have more ***** than that. 425-435 is too close to what Ford currently puts out in their 6.2. I'll throw a guess out of 450 for the truck, 475 for the Corvette.

I'm going to guess 440 for the truck and 460 for the vette.

I hope that the new 6.2 truck gets some pretty good fuel economy gains as well...otherwise I will be looking at the 2014 tundra or even the ecoboost in a year or so. I put alot of miles on my truck (35k+/year) so economy does actually matter along with the fun factor of good power.

One thing to think about before you go and buy a 2014 GM is that an 8 speed auto isn't probably too far in the distant future which will increase acceleration and fuel economy even more.

I'd also hope that the new 6.2 would perform well with regular octane fuel like the EB.

I like your (optimistic) HP guesses, and I remain hopeful.

With a durable V4 mode and CVVT it should get better mileage, at least if you avoid the too-many short trips that I do too much of.

Another thing to consider about the 2014s is the usual warning about any modern product in its introductory year. My old man used to tell me never buy a car the year it's introduced - wait till the second or even third year so they can finish the Beta testing on somebody else.

I read somewhere that this 6.2 is "premium recommended" but regular works, just like ours. I'm guessing that HP would have to suffer though.
