Default 2011 escalade dod is failing?

My 2011 Escalade esv is giving a lean bank one and misfire on cylinder 3 if I go over 1/2 throttle over 3500 rpm. Other than that it runs good. It does have a shift flare going into 5th and 6th gear. I'm pulling the transmission next month for a full rebuild and installed a box full of sonnax upgrades. As well as a circle d 2600 stall and speed engineering 1 3/4 headers to the stock catback. Thinking I want to delete the dod as it's at 146k miles. And go to a standard 3 bolt cam to limit other possible failures down the road. I don't want a repeat of my Sierra c3 and get a cam thats too big and doesn't make power till 7k rpm. Saw a TSP cam kit with a 218/228 .600/.600 113lsa paired with tsp .660 dual valve springs and the trunion upgrade. Would this be a decent kit or is there something better? Very rarely tow. Don't want the shift points to be over 6400.

Cylinder 3 is not an AFM cylinder, run a misfire graphic with your scan tool, probably a partially collapsed lifter.

Are you wanting to also delete VVT?

That's the code that comes up p0171 and p0303. I haven't done a compression test or anything on it. Using a Bluetooth obd dongle and the torque app for now. I do have an EFI live v2 and have a mild tune on it. The previous owner put a cheap air filter kit on it. With the miles it has on it I'd rather replace everything with something more reliable. I did get a used cam about 2-3 years ago but didn't realize it was a dod and vvt cam.

Well, you might want to do a compression and leakdown before taking it apart to rule out bad rings or a cracked liner. Others will chime in with more knwledge whether that's really necessary or not before you tear into it to delete AFM.

Leakdown of cylinder 3

Looks pretty good. Might have to plug my efi live in and do a log. Short trim fuel ranges from 3 to -10. Then will shoot up to 20+ maybe need a fuel pump as well? It shows 42-45psi throughout the rpm/throttle range

So I did notice that the last bolt on the headers was broken. Maybe it's letting enough exhaust gas out to get the lean condition so the engine dumps fuel and causes a misfire.

Possible. Perhaps go ahead and get that fixed and see what happens.

Well the truck does have 146k miles so the dod lifters are already on borrowed time so I'm getting the dod delete. And will need a new cam. I'm not opposed to running a vvt cam but I like the simplicity of the 3 bolt design.

Looks good. Gen IV fuel pressure for 2008+ engines is 43.5 psi at all speeds.

Any noise? I got the lean and misfire codes when a rocker went bad on the 2012 Sierra Denali but also had a cladder associated with it.

There is no DOD on the L9H but I retained VVT when replacing the cam and lifters with the TSP 212/218 high lift after a lifter failure back in 2018. I have been pleased with the cam but can not tell much difference with VVT advance/retard. The VVT settings TSP sends with the cam only advance it 4degress in the upper rpms. I tow with mine so wanted to keep the duration down for midrange torque. If doing it over again, I would likely go to a three bolt and eliminate the VVT in order reduce that future failure point. It also makes the job slightly less complicated by not having to install the phase limiter in the VVT actuator.
