My 11 is first gm truck I ever owned the brakes felt good enough in as delivered form that I didn't do a hydroboost swap on. Is yours cammed or have other brake system mods causing low vaccum and crappy brakes on stock booster setup. Good job on everything as I have kinda contemplated in the future maybe. I was just curious what you were running into to go the hydroboost route.

The factory brake system has always been a sissy. So i decided i wanted hydroboost the same week i bought my truck. The more power i made, the harder it became to stop this tank on the big end. Even with slotted and dimpled rotors it had trouble. Then the 6spd swap happened an it just got harder to stop with a factory converter. So i put a yank in it and the cam changed. So braking is better but not much due to the cam. I decided to go hydroboost this year no matter what. Besides my 2000 gmc has a hydroboost swap and is way better at braking. Only fair for a 30k+ truck to stop just as good

10/4 was just curious guess few times I've wound mine up on the big end when coming down they felt a lot less solid than I would like. Hydroboost is a win win huge improvement no matter how good a vaccum setup feels the harder you stand on it the harder it will stop unlike vacuum that leaves that iffy feeling in the back of your mind.

Do you have drums or disc's in the rear on yours still.

Drums.
Plan to find a newer 14b disc setup or a 2500LD drum setup to run wider rim/tire combo in the back one day

I've got a few changes coming next year i hope, so we will see where the truck leads me

Well the master cylinder came in today

Bleed it, installed the lines, cranked it up to check for leaks. Everything works as it is suppose to

I do have the "service brakes soon" yet i know i need to do a brake job so we will see once i complete the front and adjust the drums.

Going enjoy having brakes now

Is the sensor hooked up to vaccum and its still giving you the light or do you still need to hook it up? Other than that it looks simple enough and i bet it stops a hella lot better lol.

It is hooked up to the Vac line from the back of the intake and it's still on. Yet i believe the message was on before i even started the swap.

I think Ray @ nelson performance has the message figured out (according to LS1truck i believe)

Just cross posting this for anyone reading this thread and not seeing the other thread:

Well, I believe that I figured it out, and posted instructions here: https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...-c0299-559296/

This fix may only apply to the rotary brake sensor trucks (2012+); as someone with an '07 was unable to get this to work for him. It could also be that the voltages to the EBCM just need to be slightly higher or lower for the earlier GMT900s.

I'm happy to help, and you could certainly try my "Service Brakes Soon" fix before doing a hydroboost conversion.
