Default 2008 A4 vs. 2009 A6

Hey guys, new to the forum, so forgive me if I missed a thread on this. I'm moving back to MI, and going back to my roots and buying a truck again. (Haven't owned one since 2003.) I'm looking at getting a RCSB 5.3, but my main question is this. Has anyone compared the old 4 spd. to the new 6 spd.? My goal isn't to build a 1/4 mile monster, but to build a good all around sport truck. Mild drop, 20s, bolt ons, bigger sways, maybe a brake upgrade.

Also a 2nd question, what sort of 1/4 mile numbers do people see with a RCSB 5.3 4x4? I've looked around in the drag forums, but can't find much on this particular setup. I am probably going to go with a 2wd, but if they RCSB 4x4s are fairly quick still, I may get the 4x4, it would be nice in the winter.

well, first things first they haven't made any regular cabs with the A6 yet. You'll have to wait until atleast '10.

I would have to say the 6L80E is superior in every way to the 4L60E except for the fact that there is no aftermarket for it yet.

That's too bad, guess I'll probably be getting the ol' 4L60E. Back to the beginning, my first truck had a 700R4 in it, 200,000+ miles on it, all original.

Well the first part is covered, has anyone ran a RCSB 5.3 4x4, in the 1/4 mile? Or I guess I should say what's the difference in ETs from 2wd to 4wd, stock to stock?

Thanks for the help nighthawk08, now I have some thinking to do. Do I want to go 2wd, so I'm a little quicker, or go 4wd for those bad weather situations. Hmm....
