I hit the bump stops pulling into my really steep driveway unloaded.

Anyone about this?

If you put on drop shackles the springs are going to move closer to the body of the truck, hence dropping the entire truck towards the ground.. when you remove the block the springs are unaffected, it just moves the axle towards the body...

Unless for some goffy *** reason your exhaust goes between your springs and the frame, then you will actually gain clearance between your sneaker pipe and the spring..

Your exhaust is mounted to the frame and will go down with the frame and body when you drop it so you may have to check its clearance around the springs and axle depending on how its routed.

It def goes under the leaf. More room away from the leaf spring I can get, the better. OK so this is what I wanted to hear then. Thanks all!

i had an 08 and the tow pack just unbolted. the biggest PITA was trimming the pinch weld. would have been easier with the right tools. my truck was a single cab short bed and heavy duty tow. it dropped it right at 2 inches and drove better than stock. sat flatter in a corner and didn't nose dive under braking. towed like the day i drove off the lot. i think i used belltech.

are these the ones you used?

Part Number: 13-4100
FYI: This is an AutoZone part number. They work perfectly!

Had a bit of trouble with the top bolt on the shackles, but loosened the bed-to-frame bolts and jacked it up far enough for them to clear the frame. NO PINCH WELD ALTERATION NEEDED!

Here is a step-by-step with pictures on a NNBS truck.
