like the title says, when i turn i hear a pretty loud popping noise. especially when the steering wheel is locked. it only does it when it's rolling. a friend of mine said it may be the tie rod, but what are your opinions?

 

is it 4wd? does it do it when your turn both ways?

 

2wd. yes it does. especially when its a sharp turn. i even hear it pop when i brake at times.

 

Id start with tie rod ends and ball joints, Put one side of the front end in the air, try to move the wheel up and down and left to right (not rotate) and see if it moves, if nothing happens try the other side. If it does move look for whatever is loose and go from there.
