with torque managment you have no throttle responce, Thats the next thing to disable with a tune. an unbelievable difference in throttle responce and power...Shifts when you want it to and in a hurry. HP tuners does a real good job!

Why would I want to get around VVT??? Or did you mean AFM?

yes im sorry i meant the AFM... but now that i read through the posts i realized it actually is VVT

You can turn off AFM and you can set the VVT to not alter the timing so yes you can get around it if you choose.

it phazes the cam relative to the crank as rpm changes.

On these engines it changes the phasing (timing) of the exhaust valves to improve torque and fuel efficiency. I have no idea what the measured differences are with and without the VVT active.

but with one cam controlling both intake and exhaust, it has to phase/vary them at the same doesn't it?
