08 CCSB Head/Cam work
 
thinking of pulling the heads on my 08 5.3 for some p&p milled 243s with sodium filled valves an patriot extreme valve springs (.660) with a set of 1 7/8" LTs, a 228/234 .590.595 112+3 cam maybe. stick with my 3200 stall until i upgrade trannys. run 4:10-4:30s unsure as of now.
might even throw a 125 shot on it for track use.

sounds like a stout setup, but your gonna wanna run at least a 3600 converter with that size cam, unless your planning on raising the compression a bit..
run good gaskets and ARP head bolts, especially if u plan on using nitrous in the future...

11:1 compression im thinking. ARP head bolts is the only way i wanna go. imma ride in my buddies with a 3800 an see if i like it if so then ill go 3600 but as of now 3400 is as loose as i wanna go....dunno yet.
good gaskets? stock is what i was gonna run being i already have a set at the house.

im also thinking of upgrading oil pumps dunno yet.

damn... wish you were closer, my setup is going to just about the same...

i still debating on pulling mine off and p&p and milled to like 10.5 to 1 but i still havent had a good answer to how much gains i would see... or if its even worth it with 862 heads or try and find some 243s like your talking about

find you a set of 243/799 heads ;) mill them...just make sure you dont mill them so much you need to fly cut the pistons.

Nice setup, I've got similar plans for my CC, just with slightly smaller cam and no head work. You gonna be taking the DOD out too?

i will keep that in mind... how much would you need to mill some 243s to get 10.5 or 11 to one?
