Well I founf this;
17122490 - Single Lifter for LS engines including, LS1/LS6/L92(non afm)/LS3/LS7/LS9/LSA/LS4/LM7/LR4/LQ4/LQ9
12499225 - Lifter Kit, Gen III Engines, Set of 16 = $122.00
Unless someone proves otherwise Im still thinking they're the same lifter

I'd still like better confirmation on the lifters though. Seems pretty quiet on all the posts I've made about it so probably means thats good news. No complaints about it is likely because there are very few issues if any.
I do know of stock lifter issues when the base circle of certain high lift cams gets too small that it can drop the lifter too low out of the bore and that can cause failures... but thats not nec an L92 or LS7 etc issue so much as it is a stock lifter vs racing lifter issue.

The Displacement on Demand (DOD) engines use a higher capacity oil pump. See the article in the February 2009 issue of Super Chevy. The link is below.
