They're on close to 50,000 vehicles and the pads are made by hawk. I don't think either is going anywhere soon

Valid point, for sure. As I said, it really is personal preference. I also think it's telling that the base Z06 is the only vehicle that ever got those calipers; the Z07, CTS-V, ZL1, and ZR1 all receive the Brembos. Now whether this was a performance-driven change or one driven by the popularity of the Brembo name, I haven't got a clue

Whats a Z07? Theyre on all teh Z06 cars and the grand sport models. I dont blame you for wanting the Brembos, they also seem to be cheaper these days. I lucked out on my Baer setup otherwise Id be looking into one of these options.

I must admit I briefly forgot about the GS.

Z07 is the Z06's optional performance suspension package, adding the ZR1's complete suspension, brakes, and rolling stock (19/20 PilotSport2), while making the track-ready PilotSportCup tires available as an option.

As far as the brake calipers, I agree that the price has seemed more appealing; I think that the range of vehicles with these calipers has seriously contributed to that, and it will certainly benefit enthusiasts in the future.

Hmm, didn't know about the Z07 option. So rjwz28, do you know, is the Brembo caliper the same exact caliper for the Corvette, Camaro, and CTS-V or are there different calipers for each application but look very similar?

Rudy,

Are your adapters for the C6 Z06 calipers?

Front and rear, or just front?

What is the smallest wheel size that can be used with this setup?

They are for the front and rear. They are built around the Baer Eradispeed 15" rotor up front and 14" rotor for the rear. I should also point out that if you don't already have rear disk then you will need to convert before doing the Z06 upgrade. As for wheel size, the brackets were originally designed for the Silverado SS which come with 20" wheels stock. You might find something smaller that works , I've heard it mentioned a few times, but I don't know anyone off hand that uses a wheel smaller than 20".

It should be the exact same caliper for the Z07, ZL1, 2nd-gen V, and ZR1; whichever one can be had the cheapest is the way to go. GM High-Tech Performance did the CTS-V front caliper with a Z06 rotor on an F-body; track down the photos from that swap to see how their bracket adapted to the V caliper and you should be able to figure out how that will play with your Z06 bracket, and whether or not any further alterations will need ti be made.

Remember, the first-gen CTS-V used the same Brembos as the current Camaro SS and the G8 GXP, so those are out there too; don't let those confuse you, they are not the same caliper (although they are also a fine setup).

the 04-08 CTS-V bolted directly to the LS1 F-body spindles so no adpator bracket was needed. However washers were used to correctly center the CTS-V caliper around the the Z06 rotor.

I agree with rjwz28, the 04-08 CTS-V calipers used the same bolts as the F-bodys, the 5th gen SS Camaro's got the same calipers but with larger bolt holes (you would have to drill out your spindle to account for the larger hardware), I don't have any information on the G8 GXP caliper. There was small differences between the calipers just keep an eye out.
