Is your A/C still cold with electric fans?

Seems lately my A/C isn't cutting it here in the city and it hasn't even really been HOT yet! Out on the highway it does just fine, but at long stoplights or drive-thru's it doesn't cool that great. I usually put the truck in neutral and rev it to 1000-1500 to keep airflow going thru the condensor.
Are you guys with electric fans still keeping cool? I've thought about just adding an auxiliary fan just to mount in front of the A/C condensor, so I don't have to mess with taking off the stock fan & rigging up some LS1 fans. I is lazy.

I've actually noticed that the A/C has worked better since the install of the E-fans (Flex-a-lite)On hot days, I just override the fans.

If I don't flip the manual override switch, the A/C isn't very cold until the thermo switch turns the fans on. Bottom line, when the fans ain't turning the A/C ain't as cold.
EDIT - But when the ole LT-1 fans are turning, I think the A/C is colder than before.

There is a bulletin regarding this for the 6.0 liter Suburbans, but it also applies to trucks. It recommends an auxiliary fan and has all the instructions to install it. I had the same problem and the fan cured that. It does make alot of noise though. If your under warranty GM will buy it.

If the condensor isn't seeing adequate air flow you are not going to blow cold...R134a needs the air flow. The old R12 systems didn't need to run at the pressures of the newer R134 nor required the larger amount of air flow over the condensor. Just wait for the new CO2 based cooling systems...more pressureand more air flow required but environmentally friendly , at the expense of the consumer of course.

air is ice cold since fan install, i have mine wired to the compressor and the fans cycle with the compressor, there must be a place to wire it so when the air is on the fans don't cycle, what about the high presure switch?
