Hmmm that really sucks. I was hoping they would have them out by now. Is it me or does it really show that you can get a 6.0 in an SLE1 REGULAR cab?

It is just you.

Even though it is listed in the Reg. Ext and Crew cab column - it does NOT mean it will be on all 3 models. They have posted it just like this in the past as well.

Ok, gotcha. Seemed too good to be true anyways.

Seems like they could get better gas mileage and performance out of the 6 speed auto. I wonder why they are concentrating on VVT and AFM and not on this new 6 speed.

It could be smoke and mirrors too...I am sure GM is working hard to get that 6 speed in there asap but it has to be perfect or everyone will bitch. Might be a later added item, or a typo, or trying not to show their hand too soon.

It will certainly help accel and tow ratings with that lower first but top gear is the same as the 4 speed so highway mileage won't be any different (assuming here they stick stick with the same basic gear ratios for the light trucks as they use now for the denali etc). I would guess in town would be better for sure, but even GM said way back that the 6 speed auto will only give about a 4% increase in economy (they mentioned 2009 as well in that article).

if they said that the 08 would have the 6l80e, then no body that knew that would buy the 07s...

I bet this means no to the 6.0 in the regular cab -> 1 - Requires T*10553, T*10753 or T*10543 Models.

Yup, RCSB is TC10703, RC with 8' box is TC10903. 5.3 is still the largest engine in the 1500 reg cab.
