Default Wiring Gauges

I have a few gauges to wire up and was wondering what is the easiest and also what is the best way to tap into switched power? Are there accessory circuits in the 2001 1500 interior fuse box I can tap off?

I know pretty much nothing about electrical stuff, so pictures and simple instructions would be appreciated.

Also, any recommendations on a good book (for wiring)?

Thanks,
Chris

i would get a light tester first. it can help you determine what polarity the wires are, neg or pos.

i like to tap into wires that are only positive when the ignition key is on.

Depending on your truck options, you could use your relay center (to the right of your parking brake. I've used it for constant and switched power, ground, etc.: https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....99&postcount=3

You need metripak 280 series connectors or any generic connector that would fit on those blades.

You can also possibly find empty connectors in you lefthand I/P fuse box.
