Don't get me wrong, I'm not a pacifist (sp?) or do I turn the other cheek when someone gets in my face. I do like speed and FRIENDLY rivaliers but some guys (again on all boards) seem to take it to the extreme and are total ******** about it. They flat say that "every other brand is a POS" and basically **** you if you drive one of them. That's the kind of **** I'm talking about, I guess it bugs me because I don't like trash talking or show boating of any kind. I just don't understand the mentallity and I guess I never will.

i just like pissing off ppl that think they are hot ****..........most of them drive rams at the moment j smith said it right though someone is also faster than you are so who cares......most of the ppl that actually build there cars and trucks fast arent the ones that are trying to show off to be koo.......

 

y2k, i know what you are saying, as to how some folks just think if you aren't driving a dodge with the hemi you aren't driving anything worthy of looking or talking about. just using that as an example. your gonna run across those folks. hate to say it, but there are more of those out there than we can shake a stick at. best advise, try to ignore it.

 

I guess its important because some of us were brought up to like a certain brand. Me personally, my dad always drove a Ford, so it was only instinct to build a truck faster than anything he ever had.

 

I know what you mean Y2K. I personally, am not brand loyal. Ive had 2 fords, 2 gms and now 1 dodge. I still cruise all the above makes boards, and it pisses alot off when i say all are about the same quality anymore. Back in the 60's, there might have been a huge difference in build quality, engine life etc, but not really anymore. I personally just take into consideration what i want, and go from there.

 

you know to tell you the truth. it is a matter of the person and what they like. most have a stock truck with exhaust and intake. then there are the serious modders like us. if i get beat by something i tell them congrats. hell i got my a** handed to me by a honda the other night. turbo charged and nitrous. he was real cool about it. congrats to him for doing it. rather it be a dodge-ford-chevy-honda-etc. if they took the time to make it fast then they deserve a pat on the back.

oh yay y2ksilverado--can you send me a pic of the latest ram air you did. my little sister bought a dodge truck and i want to do that to it. thanks.

Yep, as long as the "Friendly" theme is used I could care less about what people drive.
I also grew up Furd, my first vehicle was a 56 Ford, three on the tree. At the time it was the fastest thing in my mind. Who cares that it wasn't. 292 V8, yellow, power steering by ArmStrong. I have now run the gamut on the big Three trucks models. The reason the Dodge is in my driveway is the 4 regular doors and 6+ft bed. The Hemi was just a bonus. Had GM made a crew cab with the 6.0L it would be a whole different look at home.
I gotta say the flames are soooo much lower on this site than any other. I can't begin to tell you how much great info I got from everyone here despite being a "former" Chibby owner. Y2K and us other "traitors" that still walk around here just love TRUCKS.

I'm not a "traitor", I'm a car and truck enthusiast! I like a car or truck from most brands, not all but most and don't see why someone should limit themselves to just one brand. That's like ordering the same thing from the same resturant and never ordering anything else off of the menu or eating any where else. I love my Ram, but I could have also hated it but I would have never known until I tried something different.
