Why do so many people confuse these?

The 8.1 is a 496 right?

61.02 cubic inches in a liter or litre, how ever you wanna say it

to get an accurate displacement you need stoke and bore measurement and yada yada....

Now I wanna know why some places say 323, and some say 325? Did the bore or stroke of the 5.3 change from one year to another?

See? you don't even know what size it really is...

5.3 has always been a 3.779 bore and 3.622 stroke. That equals 325ci

Obviously GM dosen't know either because in the Sales Literature in 1999 and 2000 it was tech'd as "The new .323ci 5.3 Vortec touts 285hp"

Now it's tech'd as the .325ci 5.3 Gen III engine.

I just tell people that my truck has a "Welcome to Planet ************" engine in it.

I love that people doing that bothers people. Geez, they bought the truck, they can do what ever they want with it. I have SS logos all over my Tahoe... it's called customization.

Yeah its a 496 and is nothing like a 502, same as a 325-327 different generation motor.
