Why is it that...

...your truck always seems to run awesome right after you decide to make major changes to it, or right before you do them?
Made up my mind to go 6.0, bought a block, got some heads, deciding on a cam and trans upgrades...take the truck out for a spin today with my baby-cammed 5.3 and it feels like a raped ape! Maybe it's because I haven't driven for a few weeks due to my shoulder and elbow surgery, or maybe the horsepower gods are just messin with me, but it even sounded healthier than I remember. This happened to me right before I did my cam swap too...I may even have posted up a similar thread
(DejaVue all over again)
Has this ever happened to anyone else?

yeah that happened to me last week, I hadnt used my truck in about 2 weeks and the day I drove it I was like damn this thing is fast, but then I realized I had been driving the beater (civic) for 2 weeks!!! so that's why I probably felt it alot different... you cant just pick, point and do a lane change on the civic like I do on the truck... on the civic I got to get a 1/4 mile head start before I reach enough speed to change lanes!!!

I have the opposite feeling when I drive my wifes car now. I used to think it was fast, but after driving my truck all week, if we take the car somewhere I'm like, "WTF, this thing is a slug."
The cooler weather helps too.

I had somethign like this happen the other week. I started driving like and old man when the gas prices were so high. Then about 2 weeks later, when they dropped a bit I was just crusin along and it popped in my head....."screw this!!" and just floored it. Damn that felt good and really kicked me back.
Also had a similar experience with my moms car. When I had my old car ('88 Tarus
) I would get into my moms 95' Jetta and thought I was the ****. Maybe because it was a stick I thought it was fast.I donno. But now that I have my truck, when I get in that thing, not only do I feel like im in a go-kart, I realize now that thing is a pile.
