Default need some basic info

Just started getting into the idea of doing some mods to my 2010 Z71... what are the basics? see a lot about the different 5.3's that were made for different vehicles and cant figure out which one i carry much less whats better thats a bolt on swap...

basic stuff i want to do and then leave it with that... not trying to drag it or anything just wanting to play around a bit and catch some eyes...

looking to cam it... and anything else i can do while im doing that... any thoughts? Want to keep the rest of the guts stock with stock heads... not sure if theres intake upgrades i can do while i got it apart for this...

running long tube headers into a single in dual out muffler which i dont really need any help on...

and once the cams in it and exhaust is done its gonna get professionally tuned...

thats really about all im looking to do... mostly wondering what cam everyone is going with... i read ill have to do a VVT delete and would like details on how and what cam excepts that as well... probly have to do lifters im sure but would like to know...

thats pretty much it... thanks abunch and hopefully ill get as addicted to here as i am at cherokeeforum where i moderate

i mean ive been looking into them but i like to have more than one option... ive called and emailed Comp cams twice now and there really no help at all... not unless you already know exactly what you want probly... i dont really have the interest to learn all about cams and how they work... im just looking for a part number so i can price and order... install and be done with it... not trying to build a race truck... mines not even lowered and all that junk...
