Default who wants to swap?

I am interested in swapping from an AWD setup to a rear wheel drive. Since I am not changing the output shaft in the trans, the simplest way to do this is to go to an auto-trac T case. Anyone interested in swapping?

JESUS! bakersfield!?! I think shipping would be ridiculous! Not to be picky, but I was hoping to find someone relatively close. Do you have any idea of the weight of this stuff so we can try to figure out shipping costs?

Shipping the transfer case isnt too bad actually. It cost about 70 or so to ship it. I wouldnt ship the whole front diff simply cause gear ratios are different. I would just pull passenger tube off and ship it.

^^^^ I thought this wasn't possible because of differences in the front diffs of a 4wd and AWD model. are the difs the same, just the long arm with the actuator that needs to be replaced?

Hmmmm, a couple of months ago I was dead set on doing this swap, but lately it seems like I've been talked out of it...and I'm close, right in New Jersey less than 10 miles from the GWB. Curious, how many miles on your t-case?

Likely talked out of it by someone who wants to do the same thing.

Ya, you're close, grow a set, stop hemming & hawing bout everything, i.e. 6L build or not, AWD or not, cams (that's a new one everytime u log on or post)!!!

I know $ or lack of it, stops your plans some Billy, but geez, you've been lookin for this. Perhaps u changed your mind, u change it like a woman.

Yeah Billy, Im doing the same thing you were / are? I (again) decided against removing the AWD. Not enough of a mileage gain to justify, plus added wear on the original 10 bolt and additional cost in rear tires. Its just not a good idea right now. I'm like a damn woman choosing what outfit the truck is going to wear...just standing in front of the mirror getting pissy because nothing seems to fit just right!

EDIT: I just went and blacked my wife's eye for doing that so often it seems like an acceptable analogy for me to use. I'm gonna go start a bar fight now.

LOL, that reminds me of that old joke:

"What do you say to a woman with two black eyes?"

"Nothing, you told her twice already!"

As for you Tom...thought that you were coming out to Jersey this summer?
