I see most of you have bought used at a fraction of the cost of a crate engine. Car-part.com seems to be the most popular source as well...lol. I was originally thinking crate engine, but after seeing quite a few of you have purchased salvage engines with success...I may have steered in that direction.

i found mine at highway autoparts in brownwood. costed me$2300 for 6.0L,4L80e tranny attached,wiring harness,computer,alt,...basically everything so you dont have to go searching for anything and did i mention its a 01' with 30k miles.

I've got them book marked...I think I got the link a while back off of Nelson's website. They don't seem to ever have any LQ9's though...

im just gonna be a shortblock and get some heads for it and cam...than jus ttake all the **** off my 4.8 and put it on there

Hey Colby nice to see you over here. These guys know their stuff about performance...hence the name.

I'm in the same boat as you so sorry I don't have any info to offer. What is your goal performance wise on your truck. Did you want to go all out with forged internals so you can spray without hesitation or just keep it a mildly modded 6L(yeah right)

I don't plan on going all out. I just want to swap in a good LQ9...maybe a light cam. I would like to keep it relitively simple, but adequate
