Default What's wrong with my truck?

My 4.8 is getting slower. Good weather tonite but slower times. It's always been slow, but it's getting worse. Got 91,000 miles, maybe I need a 5.3 or 6.0 w/cam.
Tonite ran a 15.7 back to back w/ Edelbrock headers, LS1 Edit, K&N FIPK, & 160* thermostat. Just when I was getting ready to spend some more money on mods too. Now I don't know cause I'm gonna be furious if I spend the money for a cam and torque converter and can't turn a 13 on motor.

There was a fellow LS1Tech truck member there that beat the mighty SRT10 Dodge. The Dodge was .1 quicker but the race was won at the light. I'll let him tell the story if he wants people to know .

If you're running 15.7 now then a cam and converter isn't going to get you into the 13s. LOL

You may need to ditch the headers and get a better tune. What is your truck?

I've seena local F-body guy gain 3 10ths after removing the crappy Edelbrock shorties.

What year is your 4.8. Unless you are in a very high altitude something seems to be wrong for you have and the times you are pulling.
I agree, take off those shorties and replace them with some long tubes and get a good tune. If you can't remember the last time you changed your fuel filter, cosider doing it that aswell.

Yeah I wanted to hit a 15 flat or better before I did a cam and converter. I figured I'd need at least that to run 13's on motor.

The truck has done a best of 15.3 in lower Louisianna altitude. But the altitude isn't too much higher I don't think here in Tennessee.

I planned on changing the headers for the new Pacesetter's and I've got an ASP pulley sitting here to install. But right now I'm just feeling like it's a lost cause. Oh and the truck is a 00' GMC RCSB.

SlowProcess it just may have been
But who knows, there's a bunch of trucks out there capable of beating a SRT10 right?

Yeah Tiberon, it's probably time for some routine maintinace.

I should be off, so I might have to try to make it. I'm kinda disappointed with my truck right now though. I was planning on doing a cam and converter before long. I talked to Thunder about one this week. I really just ran tonite cause I wanted to know how bad the 20's would hurt me. And these times were on my stock 16's. I can't afford to go any slower .

I hate I missed it, work sucked that day. That's what I get for be greedy .

Oh I forgot I kinda have a kill story
I beat a new Ford extended cab truck, we both redlighted but he only ran a 17.4

If you, Jim, and Luke(as well as anybody else)wants to make the trip down, I'm seriouly considering going if I don't have to work. I'll know for sure by Saturday if I have to work, but I would like to see how those LA guys handle Hub.
