Default what would you do?

ok i was supposed to get an extremely good deal on some 18s. however that fell through. so what would you guys do? here's the choices:

1) get hpp3 and corvette servo and try to destroy my transmission while continuing to wear down my stock tires

2) get a drop kit while continuing to wear down my stock tires

3) get new tires for my stock wheels

4) get in on ls1 edit

a few questions to help me too:
1) does anybody know a place on the web i can order the vette servo?

2) what's a ballpark figure on the hotchkis 2/4 drop kit? how does it affect everday driving and drag race driving?

any help is much appreciated here. thanks

It depends on what you want. We can sit here and tell you what to get,but we don't have to live with it. Which do you want the most, performance or looks. Either way you go you will spend alot of money. I also see that you wrote tires in almost every sentence. If you need tires then get tires! It's not worth fixing up if you driving around on unsafe rubber! Just a thought..

When we meet up I'll take you for a ride. I have the 2/4 hotchkis on. Still trying to find the right shock though. Just got in some doestch drop shocks. We'll see about em.. And it'd be cheaper to get in on ls1edit than get a hpp3.

i'm a little worried about the conveinance/complexity of ls1edit. but i'll talk to you about that when we meet.

oh yeah, i have a friend i want you to race if i can get his lazy *** to come meet you. he's really cocky, as he should be. i'd be cocky if i had a 13.8 @ 100 77 vette too. but i think maybe you could take him (he just put a heavy speaker box in) and i'd love to see the look on his face when a truck beats him.

The tire question all comes down to, are you still wanting to get some 18's in the near future? If so I would just keep the stock rubber till it becomes unsafe. Cause we all know, tires aint cheap!
You are going to be looking at a ball park of $650 for the Hotchkis kit and shocks ($160-front coils, $300-rear leafs, $180-4 Doetsch shocks). When I first put them on, my truck didn't squat on launch for ****. Tire spin was much eaiser and more common. Now they have broken in a bit and gotten a little softer. So it squats down a little bit now but not near as much as it did with the stock springs.

bigkid, does the hotchkis kit actually hurt your 60fts or still make it spin more than stock, or did it actually help out?

how would you get ls1edit cheaper than a hpp3?
if you can ill be in on that.........

that's what i've decided to do. the stock tires aren't that bad, just crappy tires. traction is a biotch with them. but i'll just live with them til i get the 18s. now i have to ponder whether to go with ls1edit or hypertech. i'm prolly gunna go with ls1edit, just gotta talk with red53gmc first. the drop can wait cuz i don't think it'll look too great on stock tires and wheels.

thanks for the help guys

Screw tires, go with the horsepower. That way I can have some competition again

The hotchkis had no affect on my times in my truck. Maybe it depends on the tires you have, I was always running on bfg DR's...now ET streets.
