What would you buy? '09 Colorado 5.3 or '08 RCSB 5.3 4x4?

It will be new to me, but not brand new, I'll probably by a year old used, unless I get a crazy financing option. If I go Extended cab, should I go for the 6.0? What is the difference in mileage between the 5.3 and 6.0?

i think the 6.0 is alot more thirsty and honestly the new 5.3s are pretty damn strong and alot of people have been getting some really good track times/dyno #'s out of them.

If i go Extended cab with the 5.3, then I have to go 2wd, because a 4wd will take a lot of mods to get it quick right?

if i lived in michigan i would def go 4x4, it will help with traction and gives you an excuse to do a few more engine mods to keep up with a 2wd. theres plenty of fast 4x4s. look at trever1t and kbracing

Both of those guys are F.I. though, I don't plan on going F.I., at least not for a while. Do you know anybody in the low 14's with an extended cab 5.3L 4x4, and just bolt ons?

I've heard that people have a lot of wheel spin issues with 2wd trucks on the street, where as a 4 hi launch can be pretty quick. I seen your in the Detroit area, and have a local tune, where did you get it?
Fit it to your needs, no one knows your needs better than you.

Multi passenger, EC is a +. Right now, it hooks relatively good. It improved after Hotchkis setup was added. Before, wheelhop was a big problem,...now it's a still a problem, just not as bad. Bald tires don't help.

Yes, 4wd launch is something that would be fun to do. As to the tune, he was in Mt. Clemens then, but is now in Waterford. Very reasonable too. Now, I have HPT, but I've done little w/ it, so far...that will prolly change this summer.

It is starting to look like a choice between a RCSB 4x4, or an ECSB 2wd. I just feel like the ECSB 4wd will be too heavy to get the performance I want...

Edit: Without going crazy on mods, don't flame me guys!

As dlt said, the new (as in GMT900) run strong. Seem to respond even better than the GMT800. The 800's are sweet, but newer usu. improves the breed.

He's tellin you to add more mods to the 4wd just to make it run faster, & u didn't even buy it yet. That automatically means they're slower. Important only if all out is what you're going for. Yes, Bill & Kyle do have fast rides, but they worked at it.

Basically right now I'm looking to get to low 14s (14.0-14.3 range) with whatever I buy, then I'll go crazy after that. Will 3.73s, transgo, 2800-3000 stall, intake, header, exhaust and a tune get me there on a RCSB 4x4 or an ECSB 4x4?
