what would cause trip odometer to be off????

Default what would cause trip odometer to be off????

I have to keep track of mileage for work. Its always been 1.4 miles to work from my house but the last couple of weeks its registered anywhere from 1.2 to 1.9 miles. everything is electronic right? so whats up with the variation all of a sudden????? thanks

If it is off, I would think it would either be low all the time or high all the time, not low and/or high. Are you sure there wasn't any brief side errands that you did?

today, the mileage was off again. it was .1 off one trip and .4 on another(yes i know thats not much but i drive it everyday and its always been the same). and no there were no side trips and no spirited driving. oh well as long as the truck still runs and it goes to the high side more often than the low side i guess i wont worry about it.

I that's only off much. Maybe your tires wearing down, if it's .1 to .4 more that may cause it.
