Ok, so here's the deal...I like my truck a lot, and I plan on beating the **** out of it until it doesn't run anymore, lol...in the meantime, I have had the thing for about a year...Picked it up for only 2g in perfect shape, just high miles(it was my uncle's truck, so he cut me a deal)...I am in college and I love hauling friends around, so I am gonna keep it for a while...I go to Michigan State University...I want to have the baddest truck on campus...I am working full time this summer...I plan on spending no more than 3g on modding my truck. I know it has high miles and probably isn't worth modding, but the truck has sentimental value, and I'll probably never sell it. I have a list of parts that I want, help me out with what order I should buy them in, so that I can have a badass truck next year for school...what parts should I get and in what order, and what should I wait on?

Parts:
Spark plugs and wires(still stock ones after 167k, I think its time, LOL)
Cowl Induction hood (I know a painter, and the stock hood is chipping and rusting)
Hooker Long tube headers and either highflow cats or catless x or h pipe
Body lift and gap guards
either 20 inch rims and tires with no body lift or 17-18s on a 33-35 inch tire
New CD player/In dash DVD player
Subwoofers
AEM Brute Force Intake
Tune for performance and getting rid of the thrown emissions codes
Rocker Arms
Cam? (how easy are these on the vortec 5.7?)
Clear Corner lights

I can install everything myself except for the headers so factor in the exhaust fabbing price...

 

or add anything else you think would make it sweet...

LOL, all that **** won't get you the most badass ride on campus. I guarantee that.
3 grand won't buy you much. $1500 for rims and $1000 for a good drop leaves with with $500 for a grill, clear corners, and color matching.

 

Get the maintenance done first.
Basic tune up
Exhaust
Make a cold air intake
Ford torsion keys and crank the torsion bars
Add a leaf in the rear to level it out
33's on 18's
Retune for larger tires and exhaust; it'll give some hp as well
System
Cosmetic stuff

 

Full direct port nitrous system. When that thing blows up from a 350 shot, everyone will knwo who you are

But for real, get some 18's with 33s, 3 inch lift, exhaust and clean up the outside. Also you can get a cheap deck and sub combo on ebay.

 

ok look, I know its not gonna get me the baddest ride around, cuz there are a **** ton of H2s and Navigators, but I just wanna compete, I have 3 more years of school, so I am pretty sure I can come damn close...This is just the beginning of the mods...3g this summer, and then throughout the next 3 years i will keep adding...also, I already have a grill and exhaust...
