Default What the hell.

go into the dealer to get a new cluster under warrenty since my speedo is all messed up. They have had it for 2 days now and call me today let me know what is going on. Well they say they put the new cluster in but they are having problems linking with it and the ask me if i have a Aftermarket CD player!!??!?!? WTF???

Well i do and they say they called detroit and they said that is causing the problems with programning the new cluster. They said they are gonna unplug and and try again and plug the cd back in.

Unless you accidentally tapped into the data bus wire, i would have to say that sounds really fishy.

I put a Pioneer cd deck in mine along with an adapter from the Best Buy install shop. I'd heard about the Class 2 data buss but I think all the adapter did was give me a chime activator to replace the one that was in the stock am/fm radio.

IDK what it would do to the cluster unless it's a loading problem or something like that.

The cluster and radio are both part of the class 2 communication. If there is an interuption anywhere in class 2 data it can screw with things such as this. This is what makes me happy I have a 2002 truck. I dont have that crap
