what happened to my buddy's truck?

Maybe a static electricity zap to the connector going to the pcm? Still,you'd think if it did, it would only affect the drive signals to the cluster.

yeah i'm dumbfounded on the situation as well. all i can figure is somehow he managed to mess up (short, etc) something electrical. but he let the truck sit overnite and said it ran fine on the way to work the next morning. i told him to keep his damn hands off the cluster from now on.

as for why he wanted to scrape the orange off.....ricer? i know a lot of guys at gmfullsize and FSC were doing this for show. guess he thought it would look kool too

My Denali cluster needles are white, but they illuminate orange at night. Looks cool IMO.
