Thought the pulley would get more HP on the low end? 15-20 extra isn't bad for ~$200. If you do this yourself, heating the shaft of the UD pulley makes for one hell of an easier install. Had a friend of mine tell me that, I didn't believe, but that thing slid all the way on without the use of a long bolt.

Nice time for a stock cam. Go ahead and order the TR220 or TR224. I may upgrade after a month or two of breaking in a milder cam. Oh yeah, don't forget the springs. That's about a 4.5 hr install from start to finish.

Then its cam/heads/nitrous/etc......

Just out of curiousity, PM me if you need to, but where'd ya get the pulley and are you doing the install? I'm thinking of doing this mod very soon on my truck too.

Oh, and if you ever plan on going with a cam later, I'd stay away from the 1.8 rockers, just seen to many folks have problems with them with aftermarket cams.
i got ripped off on ebay, but its the only place i could find some used. i paid 150 for the pulley and 2 belts, but ive been searching for a used pulley since i got the truck and im tired of looking (and im out of small boltons)

i thougt you had pullies on your truck. haha i was guna ask you for help on the install cuz i know you did the install on your crewcab. if not it shouldnt be a huge problem figuring it out.

serously doubt 15-20 hp...i would be happy with 10. no cam for me yet...i kind of want to see how far i can i can push the stock cam. i dont think theres much left in it tuning wise, but a shiftkit and 100% loss of tm might help me get my goal. im going for fastest N/A ecsb silverado, but on the stock cam

How about upgraing to an Eaton LSD and some 4.10s? I also wouldn't do 1.8 rockers first. It will severly limit your cam selection when that time comes.

I actually don't think that I would go to 4.10's until you get an aftermarket cam that can support more power higher up in the rpms and powerband. I have always heard that the pullies add about 10-12 HP gain. Don't know how true it is though. I had them on the crew cab, but not on the new truck Stewart.

And AP and I had so much trouble getting it off to go back to stock on the crew cab, that I was hoping for help this time around too. lol.

AP hasnt even posted in this thread ive got a pulley puller. just dont know which pulley im replacing yet i dont have a torque wrench and i hear its a major PITA to get it tightened down to specs. also dont know what bolts to use. i got some reading to do.

so i really am out of boltons to do except for a shiftkit, cam, nitrous, heads FI etc.

I believe you do have the fastest ECSB NA w/ stock cam!!! I don't know of anything else you could do to make it faster on the stock cam. IMO, just wait and get a TR220, Eaton LSD, 4.10s, and a 3000 converter. Maybe with those mods you could break into the 12's?

sticking with the 3.73 until i break em. i just dont see the bang for buck going from 3.73 to 4.10. im only .01 off from fastest N/A 5.3 ecsb. AP holds that title with a 13.79.

how much would it cost me to get my converter restalled to a 3000-3200

I havent been online cause they canceled our internet at work so, I only get on it at home when I get a chance, I have so much remodeling going on at home that its keeping me real busy...

Im thinking this N/A 5.3L title will be gone pretty soon, I run 13.43 @ 100mph N/A and my buddies N/A 99 ECSB 5.3L walked me by about 4-5 cars and kept pulling. This truck is cam and bolt-on only too
